Tito C. Nappi, 92, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2021. Born November 4, 1929, in Rockford, the son of Ambrose and Ernestina (Schianni) Nappi. Graduate of East High School, Class of 1947. Tito married Linda Larson Nelson on December 30, 1994 in Rockford. Tito owned and operated Nappi Construction Inc. whose projects included several notable Rockford landmarks including Sinnissippi Lagoon, Rockford University’s Fisher Chapel and Rock River Towers. He was the original founder and owner of Blackhawk Farms Raceway, S. Beloit, IL. Tito was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Lombardi Club, EAA, SCCA, Boots & Bonnets, and Quiet Birdman Fraternity.
Survived by his wife, Linda; children, Ruthann (Tom) Gaston of Machesney Park, Tito J. Nappi of Pearl City, Jane (Bill) Snively of Boise, ID; step-son, Rodney M. Nelson of Rockford and his son, Damien of Rockford; granddaughter, Rachael (Gary) Winters; four great-grandchildren; multiple nieces and nephews; and several cousins in Italy. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Joan Dillon; daughter Carol Nappi and husband, Tony Kuhn; daughter-in-law, Dana Nappi; grandson, DJ; and former wife, Marcia Nappi. The family wishes to express deepest gratitude for the care given by OSF Hospice staff especially Sister Angelica and Minerva.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
