DESCRIPTION:Tire Rack One Lap of America\n\nThe Tire Rack One Lap of America is a charitable\, extreme challenge\, street-legal road rally race for driving enthusiasts. It is an event of endurance and vehicle preparation. Featuring eight days of competition between many of North America’s fastest street-legal cars\, the teams will compete in 10 events over more than 3\,000 miles during a week of skid pad\, autocross\, drag strip\, racetrack and highway transit. Teams are self-managed\, have no support crews and have to finish on the same set of tires on which they started. \n“Tire Rack is proud to celebrate its continued partnership with the Yates family as title sponsor of the Tire Rack One Lap of America\,” said Matt Edmonds\, executive vice president\, Tire Rack. “With four decades of experience in the tire and wheel industry\, we feel passionate about continuing to support and educate drivers from all experience levels about the capabilities of their tires and how proper maintenance\, traction\, safety and durability can be maximized on and off the track.” \nOutside of the performance aspects of the event\, the Tire Rack One Lap of America’s focus is on charity. Many drivers race for a cause and they are as varied as the drivers’ personalities. But the official event charity is The Brock Yates Tribute Fund\, created in 2013 to support Alzheimer’s awareness and to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. \nCompetition traditionally begins at Tire Rack in South Bend\, Indiana when Tire Rack hosts One Lap of America competitors to a Wet Skid Pad Challenge before they begin their week-long trek. We are pleased to host noncompetitive track time events at the Autobahn Country Club\, Blackhawk Farms Raceway\, GingerMan Raceway and Putnam Park. All of our events feature the option to utilize a high performance GPS data acquisition unit that comes with a custom analysis report for about the same price as your typical track day! Please click here or on the “Track Time Report” tab above for additional information. \nAgain\, there is absolutely no competitive aspect to our events and passing is only allowed per a point-by on dedicated straights of the track. Registration includes seven (7) scheduled 20-minute lap sessions; and there is no charge for your guests.
